2015 Fukushima Live Surgery and Cerebrovascular Disease Conference successfully held in Beijing on Aug 28-29, which was organized by CMDA (Chinese Medical Doctor Association) & Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University and co-organized by Mizuho Medical Co. Ltd. & Beijing Innovative Medcare Technology. Prof. Fukushima Takanori as a special speaker, who came from Duke University, USA and had been hailed by patients as "The man with the hand of God " in many countries, personally had two live surgeries in Beijing Tiantan Hospital on Aug 28. And then he gave us a wonderful lecture and case study on the topic of Cerebrovascular Disease together with Prof. WANG Shuo, TONG Xiao-guang and Prof. CHEN Xiao-lin in Beijing Marriott Hotel on the next day. Two-day meeting had attracted more than 180 neurosurgeons from 18 provinces to participate it.
We used live surgery between ladder classroom and operation room to ensure all the participants can clearly watch every operation procedure from Prof. Fukushima. And Prof. Fukushima also used lunch time to the ladder classroom to have a hot discussion with these neurosurgeons.
2015 Cerebrovascular Disease Conference on the morning of Aug 29 began with the opening speech by Prof. WANG Shuo from Beijing Tiantan Hospital. Firstly, Prof. Fukushima showed us some wonderful cases with his detailed explanation to every procedure. During his lecture, Prof. Fukushima mentioned that neurosurgeons should have not only superb skills but also perfect equipment are keys to success of the operation and ensure the safety of our patients. For this purpose of patients’ safety consideration, Prof. Fukushima had developed workable, precise and advanced surgical equipment together with Mizuho Medical Co. Ltd. to ensure the perfect operations.
And then Prof. WANG Shuo gave us the lecture on the strategy of AVM treatment. He mentioned that the best way for AVM treatment is still surgical removal. But for the high score AVM, multidisciplinary collaborations were the effective ways for the AVM treatments. Prof. TONG Xiao-guang from Tianjing Huanhu Hospital shared us BYPASS cases to explain different surgical skills. Prof. Tong also mentioned that we still have a lot of classic surgical skills to learn and we should be as always to improve our surgical skills by strict laboratory training. Next, we invite Prof. CHEN Xiao-lin from Beijing Tiantan Hospital to share two cases on ophthalmic aneurysms clipping. He picked some key procedures to explain more details. Finally the conference came to end in success by Prof. Fukushima’s final explanation to 3 key-hole surgery on forebrain giant aneurysms.
